Information on Lesotho

Beautiful Gate Lesotho  (April - July 08)

Beautiful Gate Lesotho operates an orphanage for abandoned and HIV/AIDs affected children in the Lesotho capital, Maseru.  The orphanage has recently moved into new premises and cares for about forty babies below the age of five, feeding, clothing, loving and caring for them until they are healthy enough to be adopted.

Changing Tomorrow Children's Foundation  (Jan-April 08)

Working in the small border village of Leratong in the QwaQwa region of South Africa.  Changing Tomorrow Children's Foundation operate a Care Center for the local community offering free Day Care facilities to the local children.  There are also several Bible Studies, an after school tutoring program, a Sunday Church service and general support offered to the local community.

The CTCF Care Centre   -   2008

The Care Centre is about a quater complete at the moment with the third house, which is to be a dedicated day-care facility, nearly complete.  The first two houses each feature 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and large lounge areas.  They are designed to each house a host parent couple and eight orphans.  The logistical and political challenges are gradually being overcome to allow this vision to become a reality.  The Care Centre is located in QwaQwa in a village of about 200 people.  There is little or no work in the village and many of the children and adults have to walk for over an hour down the mountain to get to school and work.  One of the aims of the centre is to establish job creation projects and to improve the schooling available in the village.

The Centre currently provides free day care facilities, after school programs, English classes, bible studies and a gym for the community.  Everything is provided free of charge and made possible through local and international donations.  Currently the Care Centre is used to house visiting volunteers so that they can live in and contribute to the village community.  The Care Centre will one day consist of 10 houses, a large hall, storage rooms, vegetable gardens and be a secure, safe home to some eighty orphans.

The task ahead is very large indeed however with the love and support of so many I am sure Wim and his team will achieve this and much more.
